About

Ivan David Ng is an interdisciplinary artist-educator raised in the citystate of Singapore. Approaching sculptural forms with a painter’s sensibilities, he is interested in ideas surrounding landscapes and the image, geology and histories, archaeological motifs, the role of play and the artist's body in creation. He received his BFA in Painting from the Maryland Institute College of Art in 2016, Summa Cum Laude. He has exhibited throughout the United States, in Maryland, Connecticut, Vermont, Colorado, North Carolina as well as in Singapore. He has been the recipient of a variety of scholarships and grants such as a Starr Foundation scholarship, a Merit Scholarship by Anderson Ranch Art Center, a Way and Gate Foundation Grant and the Maryland Institute College of Art Chair’s Award Research Grant.

Ivan married his college sweetheart Jen and they reside in Singapore currently. In his free time, Ivan enjoys fried chicken, sitcoms and the company of his friends.
